IT’S BEEN A week to remember for Offaly man Shane Lowry and the next time he sets foot in Ireland he will be a married man.
He was tied for second spot after the first round of the US Masters; a stunning run of four birdies in his opening six holes settling his nerves in what was just his second appearance at Augusta.
But Lowry fell down the leaderboard with rounds of 76 and 79 to leave him well out of contention heading into the final day of play.
Lowry’s fourth round was proving forgettable too — he was five-over-par for the day after 15 holes — until he sank this remarkable hole in one on 16.
And to finish off a remarkable week, Lowry tied the knot with long-term partner Wendy Honner in New York today.

Lowry is by far and away one of the most entertaining Irish Sports Personalities around at the minute! You can’t even hold the fact that he’s from Offaly against him! Hope he goes on to win a bag of majors and the missus lets him get out for the odd pint now and then
