STEVE CLARKE HAS named Shane Long as his lone front man for tonight’s Premier League match with Southampton at the Hawthorns.
Giovanni Trapattoni last week excluded the Tipperary man from his provisional squad for the friendly with Greece, saying Long was suffering from a hamstring injury.
“Ireland haven’t picked him but I’m sure if he plays on Monday they can change their squad,” said Clarke. “I think we’ve managed Shane really well and it hasn’t affected his performances in anyway. That’s what we’ll try and do in the future.”
