Offaly 1-24
Laois 0-23
SHANE DOOLEY WEIGHED in with 1-14 to propel Offaly to victory over Laois in a high-scoring Allianz Division 1B hurling league opener in OโMoore Park tonight.
Dooley bagged the only goal of the game early in the second-half and that proved the crucial score on the night as Brian Whelehanโs side bagged some priceless early league points.
Offaly were ahead 0-14 to 0-11 at the interval before Dooley raised the green flag. Laois missed two second-half penalties when Zane Keenan was foiled and they couldnโt overhaul their opponents.
Laois finished up with 14 men after Tom Delaney was sent-off in the second-half but they did bag plenty scores with Keenanโs accurate freetaking seeing him land 0-10 while Charlie Dwyer bagged 0-6 and Willie Hyland shot 0-3.
Dooleyโs total of 1-14 came courtesy of 1-10 from placed balls while Shane Kinsella (0-3), Paddy Murphy (0-2) and Sean Ryan (0-2) were all on target for the Faithful as well.
Scorers for Offaly: Shane Dooley 1-14 (1-10f), Stephen Kinsella 0-3, Joe Bergin, Paddy Murphy, Sean Ryan 0-2 each, Cillian Kiely 0-1.
Scorers for Laois: Zane Keenan 0-10 (0-7f, 0-1 โ65โฒ), Charlie Dwyer 0-6, Willie Hyland 0-3, Neil Foyle 0-2, Joe Campion, Paddy Purcell 0-1 each.
Seems like it could be easily rigged.
Who better to hold it then!
