Shane Burgos had to improvise as there was no barber on duty at UFC Albany.

MMA Fighter bizarrely gets a haircut between rounds at UFC Albany

This gives ‘winning in style’ a whole new meaning.

HISTORY WAS MADE at UFC Fight Night 102 in Albany, but not in the way that you might expect.

During his bout against Tiago Trator, Shane Burgos received a haircut between the second and third rounds, as it was getting in his face and blocking his vision.

It turned out to be a productive move as Burgos, who took the fight on two weeks’ notice, scored a unanimous decision victory over Trator in the lightweight bout.  The final scores were 30-26, 29-28 and 29-27 for Burgos.

Speaking to MMA Fighting, Burgos revealed that the hair-styling strategy, was pre-planned.

“I told my corner that if the fight goes past the first round and my hair is getting in my face to cut it [pony tail] off. It wasn’t getting in my face the first round, but it started to in the second, so I told them to cut it off. It was pretty memorable, but it was planned beforehand. That was the first Octagon haircut, right? I think that’s worth a bonus, fight of the night maybe?”

Well it was certainly an unusual sight but as for the bonus, he could be waiting a while for that one.
