SHAMROCK ROVERS RECORDED a 2-0 win away to UCD to get back within four points of league leading Sligo Rovers.
Gary Twigg got Rovers off to a perfect start with a goal after five minutes and the Hoops doubled their lead after 68 minutes when Gary McCabe cut in and drove low past Mark McGinley.

Oscar Jansson has come in for some criticism this season but the Rovers goalkeeper was excellent throughout and fully earned his clean sheet.
Thomas Stewart, in his second spell with the league champions, had two great chances to score late on but Stephen Kenny will be delighted with his team’s first back-to-back victories since March.
