Setback: Katie Taylor's opponent pulls out

The world champion boxer has been informed that her fight against Jennifer Miranda will not go ahead.

KATIE TAYLOR’S WORLD Championships preparations took a hit today as it was announced that one of her opponents pulled out of this weekend’s scheduled fights.

The 25-year-old had pencilled in a triple header against Switzerland’s Sandra Brugger, Norway’s Ingrid Egner and Jennifer Miranda of Spain at the Royal Hotel in Bray but the final bout will not now go ahead after Miranda cancelled, according to RTE.

With only days to go, the news has come too late to find new opposition for Taylor, who travels to China for the AIBI World Women’s Championships in May, but ticket holders for Sunday’s fight will be reimbursed.
