Sen'Derrick Marks bags $600,000 Christmas bonus in Jaguars' third win of the season

Ever seen a quarter-back sack worth over half-a-million dollars? Sen’Derrick has got you covered.

IF YOU’VE EVER wondered how important sacking the quarter-back is for a defensive player in the NFL, Sen’Derrick Marks’ latest paycheck should give you the answer.

Last night in Jacksonville, the Jaguars took their record for the regular season to 3-12 thanks to a 21-13 win over fellow strugglers Tennessee Titans, and it was Marks’ sack on Titans quarter-back Charlie Whitehurst in the final play of the game that sealed the victory.

Marks celebrated in slightly more exuberant fashion than he normally might, because the sack – which took his tally to 8.5 for the season – triggered a clause in his contract which will see the him pocket a $600,000 bonus.

“It was pretty awesome. Nobody gets that check but me, but everybody’s excited for me,” said Marks, who promised to get the first round of celebratory drinks in for his team-mates.

“We’re just going to go out and enjoy the night.”

Last December, Marks signed a new four-year contract with the Jags, worth a reported $22 million. Part of that deal was a $600,000 incentive to make eight sacks in a season, a feat he has now achieved for the first time in his career.

So if you’re a friend of the 27-year-old or a member of the Marks family, you might be expecting more than a pair of socks for Christmas this year.

Last night’s win lifted the Jaguars ahead of the Titans and off the bottom of the NFC South standings, ahead of their final game of the season next weekend against Houston Texans.

Tennessee, meanwhile, are now 2-13 after their ninth consecutive loss, keeping them in prime position for the number one overall pick in the 2015 draft.

If he does live Dortmund. Think Liverpool would suit him. He seems to be able to achieve alot with limited resources and young players. Could be what the pool needs. Don’t want to see Rodgers go but Klopp would be a good replacement. YNWA

If he was to go to Liverpool and do what he has done at Dortmund, Liverpool would have a few good seasons before becoming a feeder club to teams with more money. They would end up in the relegation zone before he moved on to do the same in Spain or Italy.

I still think arsenal would be mad to let wenger go. Much harder to win the English league than the German one. I think if arsenal do let wenger go they’ll only realise what they’ve lost afterwards.

I don’t think Klopp is the right choice for Arsenal and maybe not Liverpool. The reason they’re doing well in the CL and horrifically in the league is because they have one gameplan and domestic opposition and copped onto it. They sit back and hit on the counter to negate Dortmund’s high energy attacks. They’re afforded more time on the ball in the CL and that means they’re doing well but Klopp hasn’t adapted at all with Dortmund, Guardiola has worked out how to adjust his plan for different opponents and completely deserves the continued domination in Germany whereas Dortmund have fallen away.

I am not at all saying that Klopp is a bad manager, but seeing fans beg for their manager to be sacked and to have him placed as a saviour for any team in need simply isn’t correct.
