Kilkenny's David Morris just knocked world champion Mark Selby out of the UK Championship

It’s the biggest win of the Irishman’s career.

IRISH POTTER David Morris shocked Mark Selby this afternoon.

The Kilkenny native beat the world champion 6-4 in the second round of the UK Championships.

Morris built a 3-1 lead before the experienced Selby pegged it back to four frames each. The 26-year-old Noresider closed it out by winning the next two however.

Morris – currently ranked No 62 in the world — has never been further than the fourth round in the competition. Selby meanwhile will not lose his top ranking.
