Sean St Ledger joins Millwall on emergency loan

Suppose that’s one way to get to an FA Cup semi-final…

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND international Sean St Ledger has joined Millwall on emergency loan.

St Ledger, who missed almost five months of Leicester City’s promotion chase due to a troublesome hamstring injury, moves to the Den on a short-term deal until 4 May.

He will provide defensive competition and cover for Danny Shittu, Mark Beevers and the injured Karleigh Osborne.

St Ledger returned to action earlier this month with two starts for Leicester and also featured as a second-half substitute in Ireland’s 2-2 draw against Austria.

Millwall are currently 14th in the Championship, five points clear of the relegation zone, but Kenny Jackett’s men also have an FA Cup semi-final against Wigan to look forward to next month.

St Ledger will be eligible for the Wembley clash on 13 April, Millwall confirmed.
