Sean O'Brien played Junior B football for Carlow's Fighting Cocks last night

Pity the poor lad that got landed with the man-marking job.

THE IRISH RUGBY team got acquainted with Argentina last night but their best back-row was in Carlow playing Junior B football.

Sean O’Brien turned out for Fighting Cocks against Fenagh, on Monday, in a Division 5 league game in Carlow. The openside helped his team to a 3-6 to 0-11 win.

‘The Tullow Tank’ came off the bench at the RDS on Saturday to help Leinster to retain their RaboDirect Pro12 title. He has been excused from touring duty as Ireland coach Joe Schmidt wants him to rest up ahead of what will effectively be a 14-month season, with the Rugby World Cup, in 2014/15.
