“I’m kind of a very emotional fellow anyway and commentator at matches,” the broadcaster told RTÉ earlier. “That one? I was just overcome by the whole emotion of it all and hurling and boxing would be my two sports. Hurling first and boxing. And it was just marvellous.”
SBB admitted however that he had rehearsed more names of renowned Irish women and may have omitted them when it came to the moment.
“I did – I suppose, I did. I went through them before the fight and there was more of them there. I forgot a lot of people,” he said.
