THE LAST FEW days have shown just how generous the community around the League of Ireland can be as people rally around former Derry City striker Mark Farren.

Farren has been battling a brain tumour for six years and needs to travel to Germany for treatment that will cost €30,000. Three days ago, Farren’s family launched an appeal for donations and as of right now, over €25,000 has been raised.

Everton defender and former Sligo Rovers man, Seamus Coleman, personally gave €5,000 to help Farren and there were bucket collections around the country at League of Ireland games yesterday and today.
