This cliffhanger putt sat on the edge of the cup for 23 seconds... and then finally dropped

Scott Langley’s ball fought against gravity… and gravity won.

SCOTT LANGLEY FINISHED down the leaderboard at the Memorial tournament — but he will never forget his birdie putt on the 16th hole.

The American looked to have judged this 11-foot effort perfectly, only for it to slow down a dimple or two short on the edge of the cup.

Langley and playing partner Bubba Watson seemed happy that the ball had not come to a complete stop and waited for what seemed like an eternity (it was really only 23 seconds) for the laws of gravity to take hold.

Then, just as he looked ready to give up, it dropped.

The tournament was won by Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama who held his nerve over a par putt to beat Kevin Na on the first playoff hole.

If Neymar doesn’t take a penalty like this during the World Cup we’ll be gutted
