THE SCOTTISH AND New Zealand Commonwealth Games teams have both confirmed that they will compete in the Games which begin this THursday.
Scotland’s involvement in the Games was in doubt after they branded the accommodation in the athletes’ village “not fit for humans” earlier this week.
But Team Scotland today confirmed that they will participate, which is a major boost to the morale of the organisers. Team England also arrived in India earlier today.
New Zealand had also been very critical of the facilities in Delhi earlier this week, describing the accommodation as “unliveable”, but now say they will take part.

The Northern Ireland team are due to decide on their involvement today, but Chef de Mission Brendan McVeigh was upbeat earlier today.
“The initial impression from our officials was good regarding the international zone, the dining area and the food… they had a brief look at the accommodation in tower block three which looked acceptable, but needed a really good clean-up. What they have done is they have brought in managers from five star hotels to supervise cleaning teams”.
