Schumacher spokeswoman dismisses pneumonia reports

German newspaper Bild made the claims today.

MICHAEL SCHUMACHER’S SPOKESPERSON has refused to discuss speculation that the former world Formula One champion has contracted pneumonia.

Reports surfaced today in German newspaper Bild that the seven-time world champion had contracted the lung condition as doctors attempt to bring him out of an artificial coma.

The 45-year-old hit his head in a skiing accident in December, and last month it was announced that doctors were attempting to slowly bring him round.

The German’s spokeswoman Sabine Kehm refused to be drawn on the latest reports over Schumacher’s health.

“(It is) speculation, and I do not comment on speculation,” she said.

Schumacher suffered the accident in the French resort of Meribel and is being treated at Grenoble Hospital.
