THERE WERE TEARS and cheers in Tallaght as four more titles were decided on the second day of the All-Ireland Basketball Schools Cup Finals.
Edel Thornton led the way with 32 points as St Vincent’s beat Cork rivals Colaiste an Phiarsigh 79-56 to claim the U19 A Girls title.
The U16 A Girls trophy went home with Crescent College, Limerick who beat Presentation SS Waterford 35-34 in a nail-biting decider.

In the Boys finals, Calasanctius College of Oranmore won an all-Galway encounter in the U16 A competition, beating St Joseph’s College The Bish 58-36.
And St Joseph’s Drogheda clinched the U16 B title with a 47-33 win against St Andrew’s of Dublin.
