Scholes signs off in style

The former England international scores a cracking goal during his final appearance in red.

LOVE HIM OR hate him Paul Scholes has been an excellent servant for both Manchester United and England over the years.

In case you missed it, the midfielder rifled home a trademark goal against New York Cosmos during his recent testimonial game for United – scoring a goal that may even force Alex Ferguson into having another rethink.

The 36-year-old retired from football at the end of the last season will now become a member of the club’s coaching team.

Speaking to the crowd afterwards, he – rather modestly – said: “It was brilliant to get the goal. I just hope I’ve given the fans a few decent memories over the years.”
