Sam Burgess fractures cheekbone in first minute, plays on and wins NRL Grand Final

Leinster bound Ben Te’o was also part of the victorious South Sydney Rabbitohs team.

SAM BURGESS WAS meant to make his rugby union debut with Bath at the start of November but that has been delayed after the incoming centre fractured his cheekbone on the first play of the NRL Grand Final yesterday.

Rather than go off, Burgess played the remaining 79 minutes with a mangled face. You can see the hit that did it and the rest of the highlights from South Sydney Rabbitohs’ win over the Canterbury Bulldogs right here. Leinster signing Ben Te’o was also in the South Sydney side.
