SAGE NORTHCUTT’S NEXT opponent in the UFC will be Cody Pfister.
Why is that good news for Irish fans? Because the fight will take place at UFC Fight Night 80 at The Chelsea in Las Vegas on Thursday, 10 December.
That’s two nights before Conor McGregor faces Jose Aldo in a featherweight title unification bout in the main event at UFC 194 at Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Another Irish invasion of the city is expected for the week in question, and those fans will be eager to see Northcutt fighting live following his spectacular UFC debut earlier this month.
Northcutt, who hails from Texas, travelled to Montreal last week, where he’s been training alongside the likes of Irish pair Paul Redmond and Joseph Duffy.
Pfister will be returning to action for the first time since July, when he defeated Yosdenis Cedeno on the preliminary card of UFC 189: Mendes vs. McGregor.
UFC Fight Night 80 will be headlined by the meeting of female strawweights Paige VanZant and Joanne Calderwood, with Jim Miller facing Michael Chiesa in the co-main event.
It’ll be the first of three UFC events in Vegas that week. Twenty-four hours later, the finale of the 22nd season of The Ultimate Fighter — headlined by Chad Mendes versus Frankie Edgar — will take place, followed on Saturday by UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor.
Not a bad few days at all if you’re an MMA fan in Las Vegas.
