Galway youngster continues to impress in the Championship

Ryan Manning caught the eye again for QPR tonight.

IT’S BEEN A phenomenal few weeks for QPR youngster Ryan Manning.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who was bought from Galway United in 2015, made his third league start for the Championship club, having impressed in previous appearances.

Having not got a look in under previous boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, new manager Ian Holloway handed the Irish youngster his senior debut against Wolves on 31 December.

Manning made his third start tonight, and QPR consequently secured their third win with him in the team.

Moreover, he played an important role in the winning goal amid an impressive 1-0 victory over third-place Reading, producing a clever through ball for Jamie Mackie to slot home the winner.

The result brings QPR up to 15th, and continues their rejuvenation under Holloway.

Manning has played for Ireland at underage level, and if he can keep up his current level of performance, he could certainly earn caps at senior level in future.

Meanwhile, Reading also had a talented Irish youngster in their side, with 21-year-old Liam Kelly making his 16th appearance in all competions for Jaap Stam’s team and completing 90 minutes.
