Ruddock to captain Leinster, Healy misses out

Joe Schmidt’s side take on Benetton Treviso at the RDS on Saturday evening, as Cian Healy’s suspension takes hold.

LEINSTER HAVE NAMED their side to face Benetton Treviso in Saturday evening’s RaboDirect PRO12 clash at the RDS, with captain Rhys Ruddock set to make his 50th provincial appearance.

Ruddock forms a back row trio with his fellow Academy graduates Jordi Murphy and Dominic Ryan.

There is no place in the side for Cian Healy, cited last weekend for stamping in Ireland’s RBS 6 Nations clash with England at the Aviva Stadium and suspended from action for three weeks.

Sean Cronin, also involved with the Ireland side in recent weeks, starts at hooker while Eoin Reddan – making his 78th appearance for Leinster – joins Ian Madigan at half-back.

Fergus McFadden, Luke Fitzgerald and Dave Kearney make up the back three, with Eoin O’Malley and Andrew Goodman partnering each other at centre.

Leo Cullen, Shane Jennings and Isaac Boss are all named on a strong bench.
