Walsh needed reconstructive surgery after he damaged his right shoulder in a fall at the Cheltenham Festival.
And he revealed that Leinster and Ireland flanker Sean O’Brien, who is set to undergo his own shoulder op for the second time in the space of a year, phoned him in hospital with some valuable advice.
“I had three ligaments reattached to stabilise my shoulder and hold it place as a result of damaged caused over the last three years but finished off when I dislocated it again in Cheltenham last March,” Walsh wrote in his Paddy Power blog.
“Sean O’Brien rang me when I was in hospital in Cheltenham in March, and gave some valuable advice on treatment which I took.
“Thankfully, my injury seems to have worked out a bit better but it’ll work out for Sean and I wish him well.”
