THERE WAS SOME good news for Ireland’s captain and record goalscorer Robbie Keane today as his wife Claudine gave birth to their second child.

The LA Galaxy striker did not train this morning as he is en route from the US and will link up with rest of the Ireland squad later in the day.

After the session, Roy Keane took part in a pitchside media briefing and the assistant manager was quizzed on whether his namesake will be okay to face world champions Germany in Thursday’s penultimate Euro 2016 qualifier.

The conversation went like this…

First journalist: “Will Robbie be available?”

Roy: “Why wouldn’t he be?”

Second journalist: “His wife just had a baby and I think that might have delayed his arrival.”

Roy: “He didn’t have the baby, did he?! Unless he’s breastfeeding he should be alright.”

We’re going to take it he will be in the matchday squad so.

Poor enough game and poor performance from Rovers, but after the intensity of the derby on Friday it is probably excusable. Great 3 points though on the road to title number 21. #mindthegap

Derry came for a belly tiddle and went home with their bellies tiddled.
The defending for the goal was criminal, 4 players around Gaffney but Boyce who’s half his size was the only one who’d tried to get a tackle in. The Derry keeper was poor for the goal as well, too slow to react.
May as well call the season off, nobody is gonna catch Rovers now.
