Kilnadeema’s brilliant Brian Molloy had a late chance from a 20-metre free with three between the teams, but his shot was smothered.
This seemed to free up Rower and they closed out the game with four quick-fire unanswered point.
Joe Lyng looked to have won it for Rower when he fired over a great point on the move as the seconds ticked down in normal time.
But with the last puck of the hour, bar the resulting puck-out, 18-year-old Molloy showed nerves of steel to convert a difficult free to leave the scored 1-8 apiece and force the extra 20 minutes.
Rower only led by a point at the half-time despite dominating the the opening period of the game and this was because they hit eleven wides before the interval to their opponents’ two.
In their defence, the wind was howling and the rain was hammering down but a 0-4 to 0-3 lead was poor return for al the work they put in.
