DERRY CITY’S FAI Cup Final hero Rory Patterson has been named Airtricity/Soccer Writers’ Association Player of Month for November.
Patterson came off the bench and scored twice as the Candystripes beat St Patrick’s Athletic 3-2 in the Aviva Stadium decider.
The Northern Ireland international battled against injury for a large part of the season but was fit enough to make his mark with a man of the match performance.
Patterson was only on the pitch for eight minutes when he won and scored a penalty to put Declan Devine’s men 2-1 up and on the brink of a fifth success in the competition.
