MARTIN KAYMER IS on course for victory at The Players Championship at Sawgrass as he leads Jim Furyk heading down the stretch. The German — 15-under after 13 holes — should confirm a place in his second Ryder Cup if he can finish steadily and clinch a competition often referred to as ‘the fifth Major’.
It has been a good day for Kaymer’s teammate from the 2012 Ryder Cup, Rory McIlroy. The Northern Irishman recorded a closing round of 66 to finish on 9-under. Putting was McIlroy’s bug-bear earlier in the competition but he was on top form in his final round.
This superb bunker shot sums up the great day Kaymer is having. It set up a birdie chance, on nine, that he tapped in.
Playoff will be the fifth team in conference A with the South Africans in 3rd (Chetahs as it stands not Munster) so Ospreys most likely in Belfast. But with Benetton playing Zebre at home in last game and currently one point behind Ulster they must pick up at least one win on the run in.
Luckily for them they don’t have any other big profile players who are unavailable…..
@.: whats the point of this comment
Think he’s over-rated, not been impressed with him and Ulster played really well without him. Would have O’Toole ahead of Rodney Ah You.
Fecks sake!
Time to clear out all they sicknotes in the summer anyway hopefully he be put out to pasture like a few others
