Rory McIlroy announces new long-term equipment deal with TaylorMade

The world number two joins the company’s impressive stable of golfers.

RORY MCILROY HAS announced a new multi-year deal to play TaylorMade clubs and balls after previous sponsor Nike exited the golf equipment market last year.

After playing the first half of the season with a combination of Callaway, Titleist and TaylorMade clubs in his bag, McIlroy confirmed he will use the latter exclusively going forward.

It is being reported that the ten-year agreement will be worth $100 million.

The four-time Major winner joins the likes of Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose in TaylorMade’s stable of golfers, with McIlroy continuing his apparel partnership with Nike.

Speaking to PGATour.com ahead of this week’s The Players Championship, the 28-year-old said: ”I’ve been around golf long enough and seen everything but I’ve never been this excited about equipment as right now, which I think is big to say.”

As part of the long-term deal with Taylormade, who now boast five of the top 10 in the world in their ranks, McIlroy will use 14 clubs, their golf ball and carry the company’s bag.
