Rory McIlroy is topless in a kilt on the front of this month's Golf Digest

The magazine depicts the world number one as Michelangelo’s David for their April issue.

RORY MCILROY IS the cover story of this month’s Golf Digest. Nothing unusual there.

However, it’s the world number one like you have never seen him before. Sporting a tartan kilt, an expensive-looking watch and his golf bag, a chiseled McIlroy has been transformed into Michelangelo’s David using the magic of Photoshop for the Masters Preview issue.

The interview focuses on his dedication to fitness, immersing himself in golf after the split with Caroline Wozniaki and the two major wins in 2014. Here’s how it opens:

“Amid the steel beams and industrial chic of a vast Chelsea Piers gym on the West Side of Manhattan, Rory McIlroy is right at home—high-tech fitness shirt straining across his broad back, vein-popping forearms, sharply defined jawline, curly locks cropped close.”
