I don't think Ronaldo would insult Messi, says Busquets

Sticks and stones lads, sticks and stones.

BARCELONA MIDFIELDER SERGIO Busquets does not believe rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo refers to Lionel Messi in derogatory terms in the Real Madrid dressing room.

The Portugal star has been accused of using several nasty nicknames for the Barcelona attacker in a new book called MESSI.

Ronaldo moved quickly to deny the claims earlier this week – insisting that he has the utmost respect for the Argentine – and Busquets has now backed the Madrid man.

“My thoughts on Ronaldo allegedly insulting Messi? I don’t believe that Ronaldo is talking badly about Messi in the Madrid dressing room,” the Spain international told COPE.

“We are certainly not talking badly about him at Barcelona. We have a lot of respect for him and have not given him some sort of nickname in the dressing room.”

Busquets then went on to compare Barcelona coach Luis Enrique to his former trainer Pep Guardiola, although he feels the latter remains the best coach he has ever worked with.

“Luis Enrique and Pep Guardiola are very similar, although Luis Enrique has perhaps a stronger character.

“Guardiola is the best coach I have ever had in my career.”
