Ronaldo capped a spectacular year with another award.

Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo has picked up the greatest individual award in football

The striker won his second straight FIFA Ballon d’Or award tonight.

THE ERA OF Cristiano Ronaldo continued in Zurich this evening after the Portuguese striker picked up the FIFA Ballon d’Or award, given to the world’s best player.

The Real Madrid striker beat off tough competition to secure the accolade, with Ronaldo’s perennial rival, Lionel Messi, finishing second and German World Cup-winning sweeper keeper Manuel Neuer coming second.

Although his Portugal side were eliminated in the group stage of the World Cup, Ronaldo had a successful year at club level, winning the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

He has started this season even better though, scoring 26 league goals in 16 matches and 33 goals in 28 matches in all competitions.

There was one highly questionable selection in the FIFPRO team of the year
