On this night in 1990 you were probably dancing like Roger Milla

Or else cursing Rene Higuita.

AS YOU KNOW Roger Milla was approaching 80 (38) when he played for Cameroon at Italia 90.

Milla, of course, came out of retirement to play for his country at the World Cup after receiving a phone call from President Paul Biya.

The striker went on to score four goals in a campaign that saw Cameroon become the first African team to reach the quarter-finals of a World Cup.

One of those goals, 23 years ago tonight, came courtesy of this horrible mistake by Columbian ‘keeper Rene Higuita which was followed by Milla’s trademark corner flag routine:
