MANCHESTER CITY’S NEW signing Jack Rodwell has described his move from Everton as ‘a dream come true’.
Rodwell left Goodison Park for an undisclosed fee, signing a five-year deal with the English Premier League champions.
The 21-year-old joined Everton at the age of seven, but has now set his sights on establishing himself at Etihad Stadium.

“It’s amazing,” Rodwell said.
“It’s a dream come true for me and I can’t wait to get started.
“I knew that the squad was immense with talent here, but I believe in my ability.
“It’s a big squad, but it’s healthy competition and I’m going to improve as a player as well.”
The England international can play as a defensive or attacking midfielder and is in contention to face newly promoted Southampton when City’s title defence begins at home on Sunday.
“I really can’t wait for the game,” Rodwell said.
“I’ve just signed for the club, I have to work my way into the manager’s plans and hopefully things will go well.
“Hopefully I’ll settle in well. I’ve heard the lads here are really good here so I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone.
“All through my childhood I’ve been centre half. I got moved into central midfield when I broke into the first team at age 16 so I’ve been there ever since and really enjoy it there.
“I’ve scored a couple of goals as well so I think that’s why I’ve been pushed forward to use my engine and my pace as well.”
Rodwell is with the England squad ahead of Wednesday’s international friendly against Italy in Berne.
