Rocky the Musical set to go into production next year

Sylvester Stallone and the Klitschko brothers have announced plans to turn ‘Rocky’ into a musical.

SYLVESTER STALLONE AND the Klitschko brothers are teaming up to make a musical out of seminal boxing film Rocky.

Cries of ‘Adriaaaaan! Adriaaaaaaannn!!’ will ring out in Hamburg late next year, the city where Wladimir and Vitali made their professional boxing debuts back in 1996.

Stallone says he has always imagined that Rocky would translate to the stage from the big screen, and is planning to ramp up the romance between the Italian-American pugilist and his shy girlfriend.

“I always had the idea of Rocky as a musical,” he said. “At the end of the day, Rocky is a love story and he could never have reached the final bell without Adrian.”

The Klitschko brothers will both co-produce the musical while training the actors in the finer points of the sport.

“Seeing Sylvester Stallone in Rocky when we were kids actually was the reason for us to start boxing in the first place,” Wladimir said.
