GLENSTAL ABBEY ENDED Rockwell College’s quest for a 27th Munster Schools Senior Cup title this afternoon with a 18-0 victory at a rain-soaked Clanwilliam Park.
A try for Ronan Quinn and a try, conversion and two penalties for man of the match Ben Healy sealed it for the Limerick side.
Glenstal, who are yet to win the cup, were never behind in the contest after Healy had set the tone with an early penalty.
Rockwell enjoyed the bulk of the early possession but were repeatedly frustrated as Glenstal furiously attacked the breakdown.
The Tipperary school were further hindered by their own malfunctioning line-out and then the loss of captain Kevin Kelly to injury after 21 minutes.
After Healy slotted over his second penalty of the game, Glenstal landed a killer blow.

Rockwell had resorted to taking quick penalties to avoid line-outs but lost possession in a promising position and Glenstal pounced.
From deep within their own half, Glenstal launched a rapid counter-attack, sending the ball wide to free Quinn for a sixty-yard run-in.
Conditions worsened in the second half as the game became disjointed. Healy continued to give a peerless display at out-half, as he kicking pinned Rockwell back into their own half to take the sting out of any comeback.
Moments after attempting an audacious drop goal from the half-way line, Healy got his reward for a stellar performance.
A sweeping move saw him claim possession in the centre of the field, break two tackles and then touch down to send Glenstal through to the semi-finals.
