Robbie still keen to have Irish role

The Ireland international has been presented to the media and supporters in LA after his move from Tottenham earlier this week.

“EVERYBODY LOVES THE IRISH.” That was David Beckham’s reaction to Robbie Keane’s unveiling at LA Galaxy on Friday evening.

“Everybody knows about his goal-scoring ability,” the MLS super star added. “He’s a great team-mate to have (and) he works hard.”

The 31-year-old former Tottenham star has been officially presented as an LA Galaxy player and speaking to the media, he immediately addressed concerns over whether or not he will continue to be available to Ireland.

“We have two massive games next month. I’m with Galaxy and I’m 100% committed to them and then when I’m with Ireland, likewise.”

However, American supporters are anxious that their latest recruit from the Premier League is ready to try and help the club capture the MLS title and the Dubliner insisted that he does not see his switch to LA as a gently end to his career.

“I’m not here on holiday. I’m excited and I’m here to win and score a lot of goals. I’m looking forward to hopefully bringing a lot of success.”

Keane could make his debut against the San Jose Earthquakes later on Saturday having already trained with his new team-mates.
