Scrubber and a cheeky dink as Robbie Keane's scoring streak continues

Take that, you giants of Costa Rican football!

ROBBIE KEANE HAS now scored five goals in two games after he netted a brace against CS Cartaginés in the CONCACAF Champions League.

The Irish striker ran the attacking show for LA Galaxy against the Costa Rican side and went close on a couple of occasions before breaking the deadlock midway through the second-half. His first touch and subsequent ball control was excellent but the Cartaginés goalkeeper really should have dealt with the scuffed effort on goal. The Tallaght native cared not a jot as he pulled out his trademark tumble and double-gun goal celebration.

Keane’s second strike was delightfully taken. He sprung the offside trap and finished neatly in the bottom lefthand corner to settle the contest.

The goals, which both came courtesy of Landon Donovan assists, follow Keane’s hat-trick against Real Salt Lake on Saturday. Ireland’s record goalscorer is in a rich vein of form ahead of his country’s World Cup Qualifier double-header against Sweden and Austria next month.
