'It has cost us a good number of points' - Robbie Keane missed a penalty last night

LA Galaxy manager Bruce Arena wasn’t best pleased after their star striker hit the crossbar in the 1-1 draw with the San Jose Earthquakes.

LA GALAXY COULD only manage a 1-1 draw away to the San Jose Earthquakes last night.

Having gone ahead through Omar Gonzalez, Ireland captain Robbie Keane had the chance to hand them a two-goal advantage from 12 yards out in the 37th minute but saw his penalty crash off the crossbar.

“It has cost us a good number of points,” said manager Bruce Arena afterwards. “We have the two best penalty kick takers in the league, in theory.

“You have to make penalties, but we didn’t. It’s part of the game and that’s life.”
