ROBBIE KEANE SAW his stoppage-time penalty saved as LA Galaxy lost to Real Salt Lake in their opening game of the new MLS season.

Galaxy dominated for long spells but Joao Plata’s goal in the 80th minute saw the visitors leave the StubHub Center with a 1-0 win.

Keane had a chance to save a point in the 93rd minute after a foul on Rob Friend.

But goalkeeper Nick Rimando guessed correctly and pushed away his spot kick.

Afterwards Keane was asked if he was happy with the peno.

“Yeah yeah, it was fine. It was right in the corner. Good save. That’s the way it goes.”
