Robbie Keane to miss White House ‘family reunion’ with Obama

Bad timing, bro.

ROBBIE KEANE HAS been invited back to the White House — but the Republic of Ireland striker will have to turn down US President Barack Obama due to a double-booking.

Keane’s LA Galaxy team-mates, who won the MLS Championship again last season, will join Stanley Cup winners the LA Kings as the guests of honour at a special reception next Tuesday.

But instead of another meet and greet with Obama, Keane will be back home in Dublin for the crucial World Cup qualifier against Austria.

When they met last May Obama, who is reportedly considering a return visit to these shores during his second term, greeted Ireland’s record goalscorer as “a cousin” and made some jokes about alcohol. Remember?

Robbie had a bit of craic anyway, judging by that smile.

But alas the two bros will have to wait for another time for their ‘family reunion’.

On the bright side, at least this lad won’t be in Dublin on Tuesday night:

He won’t, will he? *shudders*
