DROGHEDA UNITED ARE on the hunt for a new manager after parting company with Robbie Horgan.
The decision was taken “through mutual agreement but with a very heavy heart,” Horgan said in a short statement this morning.

After starting the new season with six unbeaten games in the league, Drogheda’s form has nosedived with 10 defeats from their last 11 games.
That torrid run included a 7-0 humiliation at rivals Dundalk in the Louth derby and a 6-0 defeat at champions St Pat’s.
But it was an embarrassing 6-0 loss to bottom side Athlone last week that saw Drogs slump to 10th and sealed Horgan’s fate just half-way through his first season.
Drogheda said: “Having started the season brightly, there was every expectation that Robbie’s first term as a manager would be a successful one.
“However, the recent poor run of results has forced the board to assess with Robbie how its interests can best be served for the remainder of this season and beyond.
“Robbie is one of the most committed and hardest working people in the business and everyone in the club thanks him for his long-standing commitment to Drogheda United and wishes him well for the future.
“He and his family have been very much a part of the Drogheda United community over the years and it is a privilege knowing them.”
