THE ENTIRE COUNTRY adores Robbie Brady at the moment as a result of his heroics in Ireland’s win against Italy, so his family are obviously bursting with pride thanks to the exertions of the Norwich City winger.
After Brady’s late header gave Ireland a crucial 1-0 victory in Lille on Wednesday night, RTÉ News spoke to his little sister, Amber, at her school in Dublin yesterday.
All the neighbours came around to my house and started watching the match, and we banged the pots and pans around my front garden.
“Then all of us got in our cars and started beeping around, and then we went around to the racecourse and there was a big screen there so we watched the highlights of the match there,” said Amber.
Asked if she had a message for her brother, Amber replied: “I’m so proud of ya, I love ya. Just keep it up, keep going.”

The little angel. We all love him a wee bit too. In a manly, not crying at the replays sort of way, of course.
