Robbie Brady 'not anywhere near' Premier League transfer

The Dubliner is expected to feature for Norwich in the FA Cup tonight.

ROBBIE BRADY IS not close to securing a Premier League move, according to Norwich boss Alex Neill.

The Ireland international, who can play left-back and left midfield, has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs of late, with Burnley and Sunderland believed to be the current front-runners in the race for his signature.

Despite rumours of fees in the region of £10million being offered for the 25-year-old, Neill has played down speculation that a deal is close to being agreed.

“There’s obviously been teams interested in Robbie but we’re not anywhere near a deal with anybody,” the Canaries boss Alex Neil told reporters at the pre-match press conference ahead of this evening’s FA Cup tie with Southampton.

I’m not going to go into the nuts and bolts of it but the point of it is there’s no deal for Robbie Brady anywhere near done.

“That’s what I’d say and you can pick the bones out of that whatever way you like.”

With Martin Olsson’s move to Swansea confirmed and Steven Whittaker injured, Brady is expected to feature for Norwich this evening as he returns from a three-match suspension.

“I think you’re always going to miss one of your top players and Robbie is certainly one of our top players,” he said. “So when he’s not available, of course you want him available because he’s a real asset to us.”
