Red or not? Robbie Brady was harshly sent off for this sliding challenge earlier

It was a better day for former Galway striker Ryan Manning as he made his debut for QPR.

THERE WASN’T MUCH New Year’s Eve cheer for Robbie Brady this evening as the Ireland international saw red in Norwich’s goalless draw at Brentford.

The midfielder was controversially sent off with 15 minutes remaining of the Championship clash at Griffin Park after this sliding challenge on Ryan Woods.

Both Brady and Woods go in for what appeared to be a 50-50 challenge near the halfway line but referee Oliver Langford brandished red to the former.

It didn’t prove too costly as Norwich hung on for a point to end the year in 12th. The Canaries have, however, won just twice in their last 12 league outings.

Meanwhile, former Mervue United and Galway United forward Ryan Manning made his QPR debut this afternoon in their 2-1 win over Wolves at Molineux.
