Hatton in training and set for comeback - reports

The 33-year-old retired boxer hasn’t fought in three years but could return to the ring later this year.

RICKY HATTON IS set for a surprise return to the ring, according to reports which emerged today.

The former WBA welterweight champion has been out of action since Manny Pacquiao took just two rounds to knock him out in 2009 out and announced his retirement last summer.

Hatton, who always struggled with weight issues and in recent times admitted to suffering from a cocaine addiction and depression, is now a promoter and trainer but it has been suggested that the 33-year-old will make a comeback later this year.

The Daily Star claims that he has lost 34lbs since returning to training and, in the coming weeks, will announce his old rival Paul Malignaggi as his opponent for a fight in November.
