RICHARD SHERMAN HAS earned his reputation as one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks — and as one of the game’s most abrasive characters.

When he was needed to make the winning play in last night’s NFC Championship match, Sherman walked the walk and then talked a whole lotta talk.

His crucial tip kept the ball away from Michael Crabtree and secured the Seattle Seahawks’ dramatic 23-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

There’s no love lost between Sherman and Crabtree and, speaking to Fox’s Erin Andrews after the game, Sherman let loose.

“I’m the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree that’s the result you’re going to get. Don’t you ever talk about me.”

When a stunned Andrews asked who was talking about him, Sherman shouted: “Crabtree. Don’t you open your mouth about the best or I’m gonna shut it for you real quick.”

Next up for Sherman and the Seahawks is Super Bowl XLVIII against AFC champs the Denver Broncos, who beat the New England Patriots last night.
