RICHARD DUNNE COULD be in line to make an early return from injury, it was revealed today.

The Ireland defender has not featured for QPR since 7 February, when he suffered damage to knee ligaments late on in the 1-0 defeat at home to Southampton.

That was expected to keep the 35-year-old out for the remainder of the season but, with eight games to go, Rs manager Chris Ramsey says he is aiming to make a return ahead of schedule.

Having Dunne available would be a welcome boost for the relegation-threatened club, who lie in 19th place — four points adrift of safety.

When asked about Dunne and team-mate Leroy Fer at his pre-match press conference today, Ramsey said:  ”They have worked extremely hard, the two lads, and the medical staff have been really good with them.

We’re hoping that within in the next week to two one of them or maybe both of them will be ready for consideration.”

QPR play West Brom away at 3pm this Saturday.
