British and Irish Lions scrum-half Rhys Webb

Rhys Webb signs three-year deal with Toulon, but he'll still be available to play for Wales

The Lions scrum-half last week announced he was leaving Ospreys next season.

TOULON HAVE CONFIRMED the signing of Opsreys scrum-half Rhys Webb on a three-year deal that keeps him available for Wales.

Ospreys announced last week the British and Irish Lion would be leaving the Pro 14 to join โ€œan undisclosed French clubโ€ from next season, which was reported to be Toulon.

It was thought the move could hinder the 28-year-oldโ€™s Wales future, with just four players from outside the country permitted for selection in the national squad. That quota will be cut in half for the 2019-20 season.

However, Toulon have explained an agreement enabling Webb to continue representing his country has been struck.

โ€œA fair deal has been found in good faith with regard to his [Webb's] national selection in the interest of both parties,โ€ a statement from the Top 14 club read.

When news of his departure from Ospreys was confirmed, Webb stated that the decision to leave was not an easy one for him.

Webb said: โ€œItโ€™s a huge wrench to be leaving the Ospreys after spending all of my playing career with the team. I have made lifelong friends on and off the pitch and I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of the coaching team, players and all of the staff involved within the Ospreys organisation.

โ€œI will continue to give the region everything I can to make sure we have the best season possible and I would like to conclude by saying a heartfelt thanks to everyone within the Region for helping me achieve my goals within rugby.

โ€œI would like to thank the WRU and the Ospreys for their efforts during this process.โ€

The simplest rule change would be if a team donโ€™t score a goal they donโ€™t get a point.
0-0 no side gets a point.
    1-1 2-2 etc a point each.
That way if you donโ€™t score at least 1 goal you lose.

Right lads โ€“ weโ€™ll let you score one and then you let us score one and then weโ€™ll start playing properly.

Iโ€™d prefer something more like Rugby. Maybe a bonus point for scoring 3.

They should do it so that no game is a draw in a league , a tie after 90 mins goes to penalties

I always thought in a draw the away team gets 2 points, home team one.

A bonus point for scoring three goals would just increase the gap between the big teams and the rest. Imagine the state of La Liga or the Bundesliga if that rule was introduced!

Ridiculous, it would negate high pressing and make teams sit back. Meaning very little in the way of counter attacks and a lot of possession without a lot of action.

He is dead right when he says football needs to change. Itโ€™s full of cheats, time wasters, cry babies and the rules are cementing the status quo when they should be trying to change it.

Interesting debate โ€“ UEFA have obviously already abolished penalising hand-ball in the box with a penalty judging from the officials completely ignoring 3 of them in last Wednesday nightโ€™s Europa Cup Final!!

Was listening to football weekly a while back and jimbo had a great idea to make everything more competitive and interesting. 3 points available per game as usual. If you win you get 2 and if itโ€™s by more than 2 goals you get the bonus. If you lose by just the 1 you get 0 points but if itโ€™s 2 goals or more you are docked a point. It would certainly keep the table interesting and you could forget about counting on games in hand as being necessarily good things.
