REMI GARDE HAS been sacked as manager of Aston Villa.
The club are set for life in the Championship next term after a dismal campaign has left them rock bottom of the Premier League with seven games left.
The relationship between the Midlands outfit and the Frenchman was apparently beyond repair and the club released the following statement this evening.
Manager, Rémi Garde, has today left Aston Villa Football Club by mutual consent. The Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Rémi for all his efforts during a difficult period and wish him well in the future.Eric Black will take over as acting manager until the Club appoints a new manager.
There will be no further comment from the Club at this stage.”
Garde was only appointed in November, taking over from Tim Sherwood, and despite some early encouragement it was clear that the side would face a battle against the drop.
After Christmas, it seemed they had turned a corner with a rare win against Crystal Palace and then an FA Cup victory over Wycombe.
But Garde was furious when no reinforcements arrived in the January transfer window and the discontent really took a hold ever since.
They’ve lost their last six successive league games and moral is seemingly at an all-time low as the staff face up to the inevitability of relegation.
It’s thought that the top brass are keen on either Burnley boss Sean Dyche or former Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson as Garde’s replacement.

I don’t think there are words to describe her that would be allowed past the filter. I hope there is a law she has broken so she can pay for such self centred behaviour.
Why wasn’t she at home preparing her husbands dinner?!
