13 YEARS AFTER a horde of angry Manchester United stars swarmed all over Andy DโUrso, a referee in Kuwait has delivered the perfect response to player intimidation.
DโUrso was forced to backpedal to the sideline after having the temerity to award a penalty to Middlesbrough, against United, in 2000. Similar, ugly scenes raged in Kuwait on Thursday as Al Arabi and Al Nasar took each other on in a league encounter.
Trailing 3 โ 1 and losing their defensive discipline, Al Nasar conceded a second-half penalty and the anger cork popped. Referee Saad Al Fadhli was surrounded by seven players and answered back to some jostling by laying out the Al Nasar No.11.
