DUBLINER PAUL REDMOND will have an opportunity to return to winning ways in his hometown later this year.
British mixed martial arts organisation BAMMA has announced today that Redmond will take on English veteran Rob Sinclair in a lightweight contest at BAMMA 30 at the 3Arena on Friday, 7 July.

Redmond (11-7), who competed twice in the UFC in 2015, last competed in February when he suffered a contentious majority-decision loss to Norman Parke in Belfast.
Despite announcing his retirement shortly after the bout, Sinclair (13-4) returns to action for the first time since a surprise loss to Charlie Leary last September.
The 37-year-old Burnley native, a former BAMMA champion, was regarded as one of the top fighters in the UK during his 2010-12 heyday, during which he recorded significant victories over the likes of Daniel Weichel and Andre Winner.

Redmond picked up several important wins during his 7-1 run with Cage Warriors, but a victory over Sinclair would arguably represent his biggest scalp to date.
“I can’t wait to get back in there after my last performance, especially with the atmosphere that will be in the 3Arena. It’s going to be great,” said Redmond, who fights out of Team Ryano in Finglas.
Sinclair said: “I have unfinished business in BAMMA and I have one objective: to put myself back at the top in BAMMA, back where I belong, and that starts with Paul Redmond.”
